Travel is a  $8.1 Trillion industry with over $36 Billion spent on cruises last year worldwide.

Now imagine a portion of that money being donated to your favorite nonprofit or charitable organization. Cruise for a Cause is a new, unique and fun way to fund-raise. However, when it comes to organizing this type of fundraising event, many of us within the travel and nonprofit industry have no idea where to start.

Be sure to have a pen and paper handy for this week’s Travel Talk show. Travel-preneur and philanthropist, Mary Cofield from Just Us 4 Travel is stopping by to share step by step instructions with listeners as well as the benefits of cruising for a cause.

October 14, 2015 – Duane Vancil

10.14.15-DuaneVancilTravel, Traditions and Memories.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) each year an estimated 14 million people around the world learn they have some form of cancer. He/She is someone’s son, daughter, husband, wife, father, mother, brother, sister, cousin, uncle, aunt, grandfather, grandmother and friend. Once the diagnosis is received life because a whirlwind of doctors’ appointment, treatments, co-pays, and care management.

Duane Vancil joins the Travel Talk hosts to share the importance of creating memories during this time and the purpose of the Jennifer Wynn Vancil Cancer Foundation, named in honor of his wife.

While this foundation is named in honor of my wife it is meant to be so much more. It is to be a vehicle to help as many families as possible, to allow families to enjoy a well deserved break from cancer; to receive a cool glass of water in the middle of their desert that is cluttered with surgeries, trials, treatments, doctor visits and mounting medical bills in addition to the responsibilities of parenting and work. However, for those of you who are not familiar with “the story” of Jennifer, you can go to www.jennifervancil.com. But rest assured that this foundation is about the thousands of stories that we, together, will help make as we help families build memories that will last for a lifetime! Have a memory making day.
